  • POWER PLAYER PROFILE

     

    Designed for close defenders who defend hard, throw precision checks and look to get the ball up the field as quickly as possible. Engineered to be stiffer for when you are in close around the goal and also when you need to throw a quick outlet pass from deep in the corner to get the ball up field.

  • SPEED PLAYER PROFILE

     

    Specifically designed to be used by the aggressive LSM or offensive minded defender. This Dragonfly shaft is strong enough to defend the goal, and engineered to bring the ball across midfield for players looking for the assist or shot on goal. The iQ8 is a softer flex giving you more flex when shooting which will translate to more power for the 60” Dragonfly.

DRAGONFLY 60" DEFENSE/LSM

The Dragonfly 60″ Defense/LSM shaft is for elite level defenders who want exceptional control and ultimate performance out of their gear. Engineered with nearly all of Epoch’s proprietary technologies, it breaks through the limits of performance.

Power – Flex iQ2xl (C60xl ONLY): You’re a close defender who needs extra mass for checks and driving the opponent away from the net.

Power – Flex iQ3: You defend hard, throw precision checks, and look to get the ball up the field as quickly as possible.

Speed – Flex iQ8: You consider yourself an aggressive LSM or offensive-minded defender who’s looking for more out of his gear. You need a shaft that is strong enough to defend the goal with a soft enough flex to bring the ball through transition as you look for the assist or shot on goal

INTELLIGENT WEAVE

Static Zone:
Our proprietary 12K Intelligent Weave Technology is designed to stabilize the hands and push energy towards the head of the stick when passing or shooting.  It allows for a more uniform construction of the shaft as the carbon filaments in each tow (row) are spread out to create a thinner woven fabric by reducing crimp for increased weight reduction while providing optimal mechanical performance and minimal voids in the layup.

UNIFORM RELEASE

Active / Responsive Zone:
Uniform Release provides a consistent flex profile throughout the top 2/3 of the shaft regardless of a player’s hand positioning. Our engineers agree this is substantially beneficial over a localized “kick point” or flex point, because unlike golf or hockey a player’s hands are always moving depending on the player’s position on the field.

FULL 3K WEAVE

Featured on Dragonfly Elite C, E, X  60″ iq3, iQ2(C’s only), and 40″

Epoch has engineered specific shafts with a Full 3k weave to cater toward certain player profiles. Certain Dragonfly Elite shafts have been engineered with a layup that utilizes a Full 3k Weave on the outer layer of the shaft. This helps increase the durability and performance of the shafts

  • FLEX iQ TECH

    We achieve flex by manipulating the orientation of the carbon fiber. Our shaft’s bend when you need it to, but retains its firmness for maximum control. Conventional shafts that tout flex often use fiberglass, a cheaper, less durable material, to increase the bendability. Don’t sacrifice your game, choose Epoch.

  • HD RESIN

    HD Resin optimizes the mechanical strength properties especially in impact resistance. HD Resin improves the overall shaft but also adds direct benefits to each of Epoch’s Technologies, giving you, the player, a better shaft and increased performance for your game.

  • SURFACE VEIL TECH

    Surface Veil Technology (S.V.T.) gives another layer of added protection and is a layer of very thin fabric that is used in the military and aerospace manufacturing, wrapped on the outside of the carbon. When the S.V.T goes through the manufacturing process, it is heated to become part of the carbon fiber layup, which boosts toughness on the field.

  • ADVANCED CARBON LAYERING

    Our Advanced Carbon Layering (A.C.L.) is engineered for the best of the best. A.C.L. uses advanced materials and layers low F.A.W., uni-directional carbon fiber pre-preg in a specific manner we can control several aspects of the shaft’s performance, including flex, durability, weight and release point.

  • FIBER AREAL WEIGHT

    The Dragonfly utilizes unidirectional carbon fiber pre-preg with a lower Fiber Areal Weight (F.A.W.) than conventional shafts. These smaller, lighter fibers allow for a tighter orientation of the carbon fiber. More fibers equals increased durability.

  • TORQUE BOX TECH

  • RELOAD TECH

    When passing or shooting, a load is introduced to the shaft causing it to flex back, which causes the carbon fibers to be stretched along the front of the shaft and compressed along the back. Reload Technology takes advantage of this situation by using low F.A.W. (Fiber Areal Weight) and high-modulus carbon fiber, which creates urgency for the fibers to return to their natural position for maximum recoil.
